Big Turnout at 1st Come and Try Day

September 5th:

The Junior Summer Season kicked off with a bang with a huge turnout to the first Come and Try Day at Sandy Baseball Club last Saturday morning.

Over 100 kids aging from 5 to 16 came along to throw, hit, run around and have some fun on a sunny Saturday morning.

Plenty of current juniors also took advantage of the day to come down and warm up the in anticipation of the new season starting in October.

“It is the biggest turnout we have had to a Come and Try Day in my time at Sandy” said Club President Tony Beaumont.  “Everyone looks to be having a great time, and we will do it all again next Saturday”.

Thanks to Marty, Rick, and Windsor for running the morning, and thanks to Sandringham players, Harro, Jai, Jordy, Tim, Cam, Luke, Riley, Josh and Ben who came down to run the stations, and play in the final scratch match.

For those who came down, if you gave us your details, we will be in contact about the next steps.  Details about our junior program are at:  Sandringham Announces its Junior Program for 2016-17

If you weren’t able to come down, or want to do it all again, our second Come and Try Day will be held at the club on Saturday 10th September starting from 10am.  Details are at:  Kids….Want to Try Baseball – Try it at Sandy

We look forward to seeing you all next week….check out some photos from Saturday.
