With Juniors and Women’s kicking off this week, the club swung into full baseball mode, with 17 teams representing Sandy across the weekend, and plenty of good performances. We began on Friday night with T-Ball and Little League Minor, then the Women’s on Saturday, Juniors on Sunday morning, and the seniors on Monday afternoon. It was a full weekend, and this just starts a big summer of baseball.
The 1s lost a rain interrupted battle against Preston 4-1, however the 2s had a good 13-2 win.
The Women’s team went down 19-7 to Malvern.
There were plenty of good results in the Juniors, they are all up on the BV website at: BV Competition Management .
The Masters kicks off tonight, with both Sandy teams at home, game time is 6pm. Drinks and food are on after the game too, it is always good fun to watch these “masters” play the game.
This week, we have a special session organized after training on Thursday, where we have organised for Aaran Ferguson from the Sandringham Police Station to talk to the team about drugs in the community. This talk will occur after Senior and U 16 training at 7:30pm. We encourage all players and parents to attend this discussion on a very important issue.
This weekend we have all 4 senior teams playing at home against last years champion, Essendon. Should be a big afternoon of baseball, we encourage all to head down,
Note that with Junior fixtures, the most recent we have are up on the website at Junior Fixtures. Note we have no round 2 fixtures for Junior and Little League, when they become available, we will let you know….if in doubt, check with your coaches. The only change we have so far from what is published is that U16 State team now have a bye this weekend, as Ballarat City have pulled out of the State League. When fixtures appear, they will be up on BV Competition Management .
Look forward to seeing you down the the club during the week!
