Mariners beat Indonesia to Qualify for the Asia Pacific Final

July 13th:

The Senior League Mariners registered their 3rd win of the Asia Pacific Championships with a 33-0 win over Indonesia this morning.

Rick Wills, our on the spot reporter, sent in the following update:

“The Australian Senior League team qualified for the final of the Asia Pacific Region with a win over a undermanned Indonesian team today at Clark, Philippines.

The powerful batting line up plated 11 runs in the first innings and added runs in all but 1 of the 5 innings the game was played over.

Tim Lane was efficient on the mound for Australia and only had 1 hit registered against him in a solid display.

The team plays Guam tomorrow and has a rest day on Friday to prepare for the final.”

Congratulations on qualifying for the final, and good luck in tomorrows last preliminary game.
