The Royals have had 2 tough games this week!

The Springvale Lions visited Tulip St on Sunday and comprehensively out-hit the Royals 15 hits to 7 hits.

Spencer Jack & Terry Jeon both gave up 6 hits, with Spencer walking 4 batters.  In contrast Lions starter Scott Baillie allowed just 3 hits in 5 innings, and closer Mike McGilvray 4 hits in 4 innings.

Outstanding with the bat for the Royals was Tony Cevec – 2 doubles and 1 single producing 2 runs.

Final score: Springvale     15 Hits  12 Runs  1 Error.

On a warm Wednesday evening at Altona, the Bombers and the Royals did battle in a much closer game against a strong opposition.

The game was tied 0-0 until the top of the 5th when starter Brayden McConkey gave up 2 walks, 1 hit, 2 stolen bases, and 1 run, before being relieved by Kynan Wilcox – 2 hits and 1 further run.

Mitch Wilcox closed with 2 final innings, shutting down the Bombers.

The Royals solo hit came from Declan Ferguson in the 5th, but was not  converted to a run.
