As we head into the festive season, we look back at the season thus far.
Our Senior men’s teams continue to battle, with many results not going our way, but we have high hopes for the second half of the season, with pitchers Street & Stenhouse likely to get some time on the mound. Our ladies’ team continue to impress with some quality wins and our Junior teams all posting positive results.
Behind the scenes, we have already hosted 2 Royals Club luncheons with a near capacity crowd both times. We held the Rockapedia Music Trivia night and a good night was had by all and our home games continue to bring in the crowds, including the last game of the year with around 200 people in attendance.
The club has made significate purchases of late with a new canteen dishwasher, upright freezer and BBQ, the council has committed to installing 4 new light towers with the poles already in position, and other improvements already on the agenda.
Our first game back in the new year on January 22nd sees all 4 Senior Men’s teams hosting Newport with our last Royals Club luncheon being held in the clubrooms.
The following Sunday, we again host all 4 Geelong teams with our Annual Breast Cancer “Pink Day”. With over $20,000 already donated to BCNA over the previous 4 years, we encourage everyone young & old to support this great cause by donating prizes and attending on the day. We will have new limited edition t-shirts & caps for purchase by ALL Senior players and caps for all juniors teams (more information to follow).
We are fortunate to have 9 Junior players represent our club at the National Age Championships in early January, we wish them well and are proud to call them “Royals”.
But, now is the time to enjoy a well-earnt break.
The Club would like to wish all players, members & supports a very Merry Xmas and a Safe New Year.
See you all again late January.
