Royals fall to Waverley

November 30:

On the weekend, the Royals welcomed Waverley to Tulip St, however the Wildcats walked away win wins in both 1s and 2s.

With Sandringham’s import Reed Mason on a short break in the U.S. for a family Thanksgiving event, the pitching for the Royals was given to it’s younger players. U18 Jayson Arthur commenced for the Royals and was very impressive for 7.1 innings allowing 9 hits, 6 runs, and 1 walk in 82 pitches.

Kynan Wilcox then closed in 1.2 innings – for 1 hit 1 K, 1 walk, and 0 runs in 29 pitches.

Two Senior and two Junior Wildcats pitchers were then lined up against the Royals bats, and managed to restrict Sandringham to just 4 hits, on 4 K’s with 5 walks in 134 pitches. The Waverley Wildcats went home with a 6-2 win over the Sandringham Royals.

The 2s also went down 6-2 to Waverley.

Over at Napier Park, the 3s were back on the winners list with a 4-1 win over Waverley, behind Matt Taylor’s arm on the mound, and a bunch of juniors getting hits (Luke Socic, Aiden Flynn, Will Connolly, Matt Beaumont).

Unfortunately the 4s couldn’t back up their win from last week, with a 15-2 loss.

This week, we have the 1s and 2s home to Blackburn, while the 3s and 4s will be heading over to Billabong Park.

This Sunday also marks the 2nd Royals Club Lunch for 2016/17, with a very special guest speaker, Australian Netball Coach, Lisa Alexander.  Contact Macca for a seat.  More info is at: royals-club-lunch-dec-4th
