Sandringham played it’s neighbor Moorabbin on the weekend, and saw the honors split across the senior teams.
In the 1s, the Panthers finished with a win 3 – 1. Reed Mason started for the Royals, and was steady on the mound, but gave up 5 hits and 2 runs in 5.1 innings before handing the ball to Branden Stenhouse who allowed just 1 hit and 1 run in 2.2 innings.
Josh Mulherin took the ball for the Panthers giving up 3 hits and 1 run in 6 innings. Grant Irving then closed for Moorabbin shutting down the Royals in his 3 innings of work.
In a game of few hits [4 to Sandy, 6 to Moorabbin], 3 infield errors and 8 stolen bases allowed by the Royals was the difference. Cain Bumpstead for
the Panthers had a stellar game, scoring their 3 runs off 3 hits and 4 stolen bases.
In the early game, the 2s continued their good recent form, with a 7-5 win over the Panthers.
Over at Tulip St, the 4s once again tried to manufacture a final inning comeback, but fell short 6-3.
The 3s maintained their unbeaten record, and behind 6 shutout innings from Jake Sinclair, won 9-0.
