We started our 2 game series with Waverley win a bang, with all 4 senior teams victorious.
At Tulip St, pitchers dominated, with the 4s shutting out the Wildcats 8-0 behind fine pitching from junior Josh Smith, and fireball throwing closer, Darren Wilcox 🙂
The 3s got an equally fine pitching performance. Tony Morisi went all 5 innings and gave up just 1 earned run. The Royals went on to win 5-2.
At Waverley, the wind favored the hitters, and pitching was tough.
The 2s kept their unbeaten start to the year, scoring 9 runs in the 5 innings to win decisively 18-7.
The 1s were involved in a topsy-turvy run fest, and in a game where home runs seemed the norm, the Royals import pitcher, Peter Gehle, proved he was more than handy with the bat in hand, hitting a Grand Slam Home Run in the top of the 9th to ensure an 18-14 win.
So after 3 rounds, all teams look pretty competitive, and we look forward to the return bout against Waverley this Sunday. The 1s and 2s will be at Tulip St, we look forward to a big crowd coming out to support the boys.
