The 1s returned to the winners list with a 3-1 win over the powerful Melbourne Demons at Surrey Park.
In a game that remained very tight for 7 innings, Royals starter Reed Mason went head to head with Demons starter Andy Mann, in bright sunny weather.

Nathan Aaron replaced Davine to get the final two outs in the ninth. Royals starter Reed Mason, strong for 7 innings was replaced by young Jackson Boyd who was brilliant in closing, shutting down the big Demons bats with just on hit in the 9th to see Sandringham come away with a 3-1 win.
Unfortunately, the 1s was the only bright spot on the day, with the 2s, 3s, and 4s all succumbing to the Melbourne bats.
The 2s gave up 4 runs in the 3rd innings and 3 in the 6th, in going down 8-1.
In the 3s, the Demons came out hitting, getting 6 hits and scoring 4 runs in the first dig, eventually racking up 17 hits for the match, and despite 3 hits each to Matt Taylor and Matt Beaumont, the Royals went down 11-6. The 4s also got hit against, going down 23-0.
Next week is the last game before the Xmas break, and we have the opportunity to exact revenge on Melbourne as we play them again, this time with the 1s and 2s at home, and the 3s and 4s at Surrey Park.
So head on down and support the boys on Sunday in our last game for 2016.
