The Sandringham Baseball Club are saddened by the recent passing of a much respected personality who contributed enormously to the history of our club.
John Pebbles involvement at Sandringham commenced in the Summer of 1979 when his son Rob played his first season of Pee Wee’s
With Rob enjoying his baseball, John first became involved as a committee person in 1982 and was instrumental in establishing a junior committee where he acted as Treasurer in 1985.
The following year he also took on the role as Junior Secretary whilst still acting as Treasurer of the Junior Committee.
In 1989 John remained committed to the Royals and assumed the role as club Treasurer until 1992 when he was elected as Vice President of the Royals.
The Sandringham Baseball Club awarded John Life Membership in1993 in recognition of his valued and outstanding contribution.
John remained a very active contributor and was the cornerstone to the success of Bingo Fundraising until the club transferred ownership in 2003…during which John continued to serve the club as Vice President.
The establishment of our current clubrooms was partially funded by the success of the Bingo.
John and his family were wonderful club people and the Royals family are indebted to John for his years of dedicated service.
We pass on our sympathies to John’s family at this time.
